At Shadow Creek Oral and Facial Surgery Center in Pearland, Texas, J. Enrique Tabarini, DDS, MS, practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from corrective jaw surgery to wisdom-tooth removal. Dr. Tabarini also diagnoses and treats facial pain, facial injuries and TMJ disorders and performs a full range of dental-implant and bone-grafting procedures.

The surgical staff at Shadow Creek includes experienced, certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants and a trained registered nurse, who assist in surgery, IV sedation and outpatient general anesthesia. All staff members are informed administrative personnel, well-versed in health and insurance policies and CPR-certified.

Another part of the practice is the Novo Implant Studio, which focuses on dental implants that provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel and function like natural teeth so patients can eat virtually anything and smile with confidence.

J. Enrique Tabarini, DDS, MS
Dr. Tabarini holds a DDS from Latin American University of Science and Technology in Costa Rica and completed his residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in oral and maxillofacial surgery with extensive specialty training. At UAB, Tabarini earned an MS in oral and maxillofacial surgery, was elected to the Phi Beta Delta Honor Society of International Scholars and served as chief resident during his final year. Tabarini also completed a fellowship in pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Children’s Hospital in Cuernavaca, Mexico, treating children with cleft palates and craniofacial deformities.

Dr. Tabarini works with nonprofit medical organizations that reach out to Latin American children affected by craniofacial deformities, regularly conducting mission trips to perform operations. Tabarini is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.

Oscar Muñiz-Luciano, DMD, MD
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Muñiz-Luciano earned his DDS from the University of Puerto Rico School of Dentistry and an MD from the Central del Caribe School of Medicine before serving his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the UT Southwestern-Parkland Memorial Hospital program in Dallas. Muñiz-Luciano also completed a general surgery internship at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and a facial plastic surgery fellowship at the Willowbend Cosmetic Surgery Center in Plano, Texas.

Involved in research and publications, Muñiz-Luciano coauthored Treatment Considerations for Comminuted Mandibular Fractures, an important paper on the treatment algorithm of comminuted mandibular facial fractures. Muñiz-Luciano has taught dental students and been a guest lecturer in Puerto Rico and the United States, and is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
